Carol and Preston at the Mendenhall Glacier overview. This glacier is near Juneau, Alaska. If you look carefully you can see a canoe in the lake on the left side.

Click on the photo to see the larger sized image. This is a chunk of glacier ice Preston picked out of the lake into which the Mendenhall Glacier feeds. It is amazing stuff, in fact this photo is a poor representation of seeing this amazing piece of ice in person.
Tracy Arm

The Ship cruised up the inlet in Alaska called Tracy Arm in the early morning. Undoubtedly one of the more beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Shown in the photo below is my brother Preston.

Monday afternoon when we went back to our room after the steward had cleaned and changed the linens in our stateroom we all laughed when we saw this. We asked the steward if this was done by all stewards and he said no, just him. Very nice extra touch of service I thought.
Well, I’ll try again

I’m going to try again to make blog entries on a daily basis rather than once or twice a year.
A week ago Sunday Carol and I and my brother Preston left Seattle on a one week cruise to Alaska. It was definitely memorable event. Alaska is home to some fantastic natural beauty. In the next few days I’ll give my thoughts on the week and include some pictures.
